About Tears of a bennu.

A Bennu is the Ancient Egyptian equivalent to a Phoenix. I have an affinity with the various legends of the phoenix world wide. The imagery of rising from the ashes to reign again gives me hope on my own journey through the ruins of my childhood. It was believed that a bennu’s tears, or those of any phoenix could heal many maladies.

I am a middle-aged, American, bi-racial, wife, mother, and foster-mother. I am currently finishing up my second  third year of therapy for Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I am pursuing my RN and perhaps in the future a CNP in Psychiatric Nursing.

I’d love for you to follow me down the rabbit hole of my past and up the ladder of my self-actualization.  I’d hate to go it  alone 😉

May we all be reinvented and reborn into the best Self we can be. May the ashes of our self-immolation become the fertilizer for those on the journey after us and may our rebirth and subsequent flight ignite the imaginations and hopes of our witnesses.

ONly a few months ago I got introduced to art therapy and ever since my healing progresses incredibly. I had intense trauma therapy ( 3 months, 35h/week) and I am glad that I went through this very hard yet freeing time. Thanks for being out there and sharing!

  2. Hello Pheonix Ascending! My Name is Hazel and I just found your blog via D.I.D. tags. You and i are very much alike in that we are both multi-racial, mid thirties and healing from D.I.D. It’s quite late and I’d like to spend more time here, but not tonight. Just wanted to give you a warm hello before I forget! LOL! It’s so very nice to read your poetry and your words of wisdom. I am very impressed with your schooling and just know you will make a fine therapist and help a whole lotta people.

Warmest wishes to you and good night!

  3. Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Gretchen Paules and I am the Administrative Director for a newly formed nonprofit called the Let Go…Let Peace Come In Foundation. Our mission at LGLPCI is to help heal and support adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse worldwide. We are actively seeking adult survivors who would be willing to post their childhood photo & caption, their story, or their creative expressions to our website http://www.letgoletpeacecomein.org. By uniting survivors from around the globe we hope to provide a stronger and more powerful voice to those survivors who have not yet found the courage to speak out or have been cast aside with disbelief.

I am writing to you today to ask you to please consider posting to our website. It is through the support of courageous survivors like you that we will succeed in our effort to help one survivor at a time. If you have any questions please feel free to e-mail me directly at this e-mail address. Together we can; together we should; together we NEED to stand up and be counted.

    Warmest Regards,
    Gretchen Paules
